Another way to enjoy the out of doors

Sitting outside on your deck is very relaxing, and if your deck is up high enough it is pretty bug free.  Even better is hanging a camping hammock between trees or a tree and a post for your deck and laying in them looking at nature all around you as long as that nature doesn’t include biting or stinging insects.

One way to make sure your hammock is in a bug free zone is to have a hammock with netting on it especially if the netting is fine enough to keep no see ums out too! The Ultralight Skeeter camping hammocks come with an extremely fine mosquito netting to ensure that no bugs or insects enter your hammock. The built-in, double-sided zipper that runs the length of the hammock allows for easy entry/exit. The mosquito netting is suspended from two cords which are included with your hammock.  All in all this is the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors in peace.

A camping hammock can mean more vacations

I have been to Hawaii several times and enjoy being outdoors in January. Do you suppose my liking Hawaii has anything to do with the weather we have in Minnesota in January? Actually I think it is because of the success the Vikings have in the Super Bowl. However, one thing I don’t do is spend money on tourist traps unless it is something I really want to do. I think it is sad when I visit with someone and they talk about all the activates they did that day and not about enjoying the day,

Outdoor enthusiasts should take a camping hammock like the Grand Trunk Ultralight hammock. It weighs 10 ounces making it possible to take on a hike or just spending time on the beach. With the money you save you might be able to take an extra vacation.

A camping hammock for the person who has everything

Have you ever had the problem of what do you get someone who has everything? Actually I doubt that they really have everything it just seems that way. Would one of several camping hammocks work for them? My neighbor has a camping hammock tied to a couple of trees and leaves it there all summer. Many times I see him in it and have thought it beats traveling a long way to spend time outdoors.

A camping hammock can be tied to two trees and left up all week or even all summer. The higher it is tied the more out of the way of insects you will be but make sure it is tied securely

Save money with a camping hammock

During our working years my wife and I took more than our share of vacations. WE did this despite raising a large family. No we didn’t have more income than most people, but what we did do was learn to vacation without spending a lot of money. Not that we deprived ourselves but we avoided most tourist traps and just did the things we really wanted to do. I don’t have anything against tourist traps; it is just that I don’t believe in spending money on them just because they are there. Many times camping hammocks do more for us than tourist traps.

The Grand Trunk Ultralight camping hammock is a good example of something you can use and it doesn’t break the budget. It weighs less than a pound so you can take it backpacking or just tie it to two trees and enjoy the beach. Even doing it just one day while on vacation cuts your expenses.

A camping hammock can be a great way to spend the day

My grandchildren like to come up the lake and do some fishing and swimming. I have a couple of camping hammocks and after a couple of hours in or on the lake one of them grabs a book and a camping hammock and proceeds spend a part of the day reading. That is one of the great things about a camping hammock just letting the world go by while you just enjoy the day,

There is a value to tying your camping hammock high in the tree. You get a better view of the area and you will have fewer bugs to contend with. Just be sure that your rope is tied tight so that camping hammock won’t come down with you in it.

A camping hammock has many benefits

As those who read my blogs can testify to I encourage a few things. Have enjoyable physical activity, keep the costs down and have fun.   A camping hammock can help with all three. Normally tying a camping hammock to a couple of trees doesn’t cost anything and reading a good book or just watching the world go by can be very enjoyable. After a couple of hours take a long walk along the beach or other scenic spot or just locate the camping hammock some distance from the source of your favorite beverage and go get it.

In my opinion it beats getting in the car driving for a distance with the short members of the family, spending money at a tourist spot and then doing it all over again in a couple of hours. Actually many times the short members of the family prefer spending time where they can run around. Even if you only do this one day of your vacation you are way ahead.

A camping hammock can save money in Hawaii

Have you ever thought about a trip to Hawaii but decided it was too expensive? Let’s think about what the costs really are. The costs include air transportation, lodging, food and entertainment. There isn’t anything you can do about transportation except do your research, but it is possible to cook your food sleep on the beach and minimize entertainment expenses. A camping hammock can reduce those expenses.

I have observed people using a camping hammock to sleep on the beach. Spend the day surfing or hiking and use a camping hammock to spend the night. Maybe not for everyone but it can be done. The thing is if you want to vacation on the cheap it can be done.
