Have you ever had the problem of what do you get someone who has everything? Actually I doubt that they really have everything it just seems that way. Would one of several camping hammocks work for them? My neighbor has a camping hammock tied to a couple of trees and leaves it there all summer. Many times I see him in it and have thought it beats traveling a long way to spend time outdoors.
A camping hammock can be tied to two trees and left up all week or even all summer. The higher it is tied the more out of the way of insects you will be but make sure it is tied securely
One of the most important things when packing to go camping or traveling anywhere is to pack things that are useful, light and small. The ultralight Skeeter camping hammock meets all three criteria. At 20 ounces it packs into a very light small package. The very fine mosquito netting keeps the pests out, including mosquitoes, no-see-ums and black flies, so you can get a good night sleep or enjoy an afternoon’s rest. The built-in, double-sided zipper that runs the length of the hammock allows for easy entry/exit. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors in peace without filling your packing space.
Have you ever thought about a trip to Hawaii but decided it was too expensive? Let’s think about what the costs really are. The costs include air transportation, lodging, food and entertainment. There isn’t anything you can do about transportation except do your research, but it is possible to cook your food sleep on the beach and minimize entertainment expenses. A camping hammock can reduce those expenses.
I have observed people using a camping hammock to sleep on the beach. Spend the day surfing or hiking and use a camping hammock to spend the night. Maybe not for everyone but it can be done. The thing is if you want to vacation on the cheap it can be done.
Too many people a vacation means hurrying from one site to another without taking the time to just unwind. The problem with that is we never enjoy any of them because all it means is we are hustling all the time and not stopping to smell the flowers. In addition we spend a lot of money and when we get home that adds to stress when the credit cards come due.
I don’t think there is any question that a camping hammock remains one of the better ways to enjoy a vacation on the cheap. Just tie it to two trees and spend a couple of hours or all day watching the world go by. Isn’t that what a vacation is for?
Ok it so the fourth of July and how are you going to enjoy it? I guess it might be a bit late to do a lot about it but if you still can there some interesting options. Since it is a long weekend many people feel it is necessary to get out of town. It isn’t an issue for me any longer since I live on the lake but why fight traffic for several hours and be in a crowd where ever you go. Why not have a camping hammock tied to two trees in your backyard and enjoy the peace and quiet.
I would suggest that watching some fireworks might be in order but that us a small price compared to driving for several hours. That is the nice part about a camping hammock. You can enjoy it in many places.
An Eagles Nest hammock works great on vacation as it rolls up into a small ball reducing luggage issues. A great many people may question why you would take it on vacation when there are a lot of other things to do? I agree if you really want to do them. But if you are only doing them because you think you have too, then do what you would really want to do.
People who vacation in buggy or under wet conditions should get a bug nest or an umbrella to add to the camping hammock concept. Be sure that the higher you tie your hammock to the trees the better your knot is and make sure your rope isn’t frayed.
I have written several articles about using a camping hammock to save on resort costs. An Eagles Nest hammock works great for that since it rolls into a small bundle fits into luggage easily. However, in Minnesota and many other areas the BugNest is a great addition. It will keep the insects away permitting you to enjoy your camping hammock experience.
One thing to keep in mind if you plan on sleeping in your camping hammock to save money. The weather in many parts of the country can change you might need to have alternate sleeping quarters. Remember electrical storms can be dangerous even if they are several miles away.
