Which sleeping bag?

There are so many features in camping sleeping bags that it can be challenging to determine which ones you need.  The most important thing to consider is the type of camping you do.  If you enjoy camping early in the spring or later in the fall when there aren’t as many other people around and its not hot or buggy during the day a sleeping bag with a cold weather rating is important.

Many sleeping bags feature the newer light weight but warm filling.  This keeps you warm without weighing you down.  Also important if you camp in damp weather is a top and bottom that are water repellent.  Many of our sleeping bags are rated to keep you warm at 15 to 0 degrees.

The Microloft rectangle hooded camping sleeping bag is an excellent choice for camping when the weather is warm.  Lets face it, most of us are warm weather campers so why pay the extra money for a sleeping bag designed to keep you warm at 0 degrees when you don’t need it?  Save the money and cut the weight of your camping gear by purchasing a sleeping bag designed for you.

This bag is 90″ x 34″ (229 x 86 cm), shaped as a rectangle with a hood at the top for your head.  The outer shell is of nylon taffeta which is waterproof, the lining of comfortable Pongee Pro.  The filling is 1 layer of Primaloft Sport for comfort and just enough warmth.  The 2 way #5 zipper allows easy access.  The 4-way compression bag stuff sack is perfect for keeping the sleeping bag clean and compact.  With a total weight of 2.75 lbs this bag won’t add a lot to the weight or space of your gear.

The ChinookRest Self-Inflating air mattress is ideal for any backpacking excursion or family camping trip.  The mattress is 2 inches thick and has an R-Value of 6.2.  The R value is a measure of its insulating properties, it describes the resistance to heatflow.  To achieve the listed Chinook R-values, ensure the mattress is fully inflated.

This light weight camping air mattress’s top fabric is a lightweight and durable, TPU-coated diamond ripstop nylon fabric with an anti-slip surface to help reduce sleeping bag slippage while the bottom fabric is heavy-duty, TPU-coated nylon also with a non-slip surface.  A top quality, super strong brass valve makes  inflation and deflation quick and easy. This air mattress will not break in sub-zero weather.  Its superior open-cell foam makes inflation/deflation rapid and provides excellent insulation and extra comfort on rough or uneven surfaces.  Also included is a stuffsack and repair kit.
