While the camping tent has reigned as the primary form of camping shelter for many years, there are an increasing number of people who are opting instead for a camping hammock. Although camping tents have become more and more easy to set up over the years, camping hammocks prove just as easy to set up. All you need are two trees that are relatively close to each other. From a camping perspective, the benefits of these hammocks are numerous.

Many campers, after all, are always looking to minimize how much weight they have to carry on any given trip. And invariably, the tent is the one object that’s heavy and cumbersome to carry. Camping hammocks, on the other hand, are lightweight and compact. This makes them the ideal shelter for campers. The only downside is that weather can pose a bit more of a problem in a hammock than a tent, so just make sure to keep your eye on the weather report. And stick to hammock camping in the summer, when the weather is more likely to cooperate.
