Living in the upper Midwest has both advantages and disadvantages. We always hear about the disadvantage listening to the weather reports in January or February. Then most of the rest of the country forgets about us. One of the benefits of our weather is we appreciate the nice weather we get. One thing that many do is go on group camping trips for an extended weekend. The weekend can be a great deal of fun. Spend all day with your friends doing the things you enjoy and roast marshmallows in the evening and tell stories.

One important item you have to have to enjoy the weekend is an air mattress. None of us are used to sleeping on the ground so it doesn’t make any sense to do it on vacation. Although many air mattresses come with a built in pump I suggest you have a hand pump along in case of power or battery failure.
